David Lewis-Hodgson quit medical school in the 1960’s to register at the Regent Street Polytechnic’s School of Photography.

Having gained his diploma he searched for a job as a photographer, but had to become freelance earning 1 guinea for every photo used.

In 1969 he went to Northern Ireland to photograph the ‘Troubles”. He quit photo journalism at the end of the 1970’s.
