We’ve received a newsletter from the Photographers’ gallery. Visit their website for information on talks and events, project for young people and the launch of the Golden Editions.
The themes explored in our talks and events feel especially relevant: image culture in a time of capitalism, the manipulation of digital data, the joys of slow looking and strategies to embrace the routine of the everyday, are all areas that we imagine will resonate. We’ve also got a week-long series of projects for young people to help build confidence, skills and gain insights into working in the creative industries.
Importantly we are delighted to launch our Golden Editions with this seminal image from US artist, Jim Goldberg. A leading light in the development of documentary photography practice, Jim is a long-term friend of the Gallery, having exhibited. been a judge for our New Talent Award and winning the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize in 2011. The message hand-inscribed on this powerful work feels emblematic of how we should all feel as citizens of the world, and certainly a sentiment that we hope typifies your experience with us. Not only is this a unique opportunity to purchase a significant artwork from a major talent, but all profits from sales, directly help us continue doing what we do. Win/Win.
There are so many other ways to support us though, from simply visiting our website, buying something from our online bookshop, exploring our viewpoints, engaging with us on social media, advocating the work we do to friends, letting us know how your experiences with us were, or just sending us a message of support.
Thank you for being part of our community.
