The Royal Photographic Society
The Royal Photographic Society is a charity which has been leading photography since 1853. Our mission is to promote the highest standards of photography.
The Royal Photographic Society exists to promote photography and image-making and to support photographers in realising their potential, irrespective of their level of knowledge, equipment or skills. It has an international membership. The Society also acts as a public advocate for photography and photographers.
Whether you work in analogue, digital photography or video, using an iPhone, compact digital camera or DSLR to capture your film or pictures, we can help guide you on your journey as a photographer.
The London Salon of Photograhy
The London Salon of Photography is a unique body of photographers, from worldwide membership, whose sole aim is to exhibit, annually, the very best of pictorial photographic imagery.
Membership of the Salon is by invitation only and the roots of this organisation go back to the year 1893 when it was formed as ‘The Linked Ring’, becoming the London Salon in 1910 when the first London Salon Exhibition was held.
The Linked Ring members were heavily involved with a breakaway organisation from the Royal Photographic Society being concerned that the Royal Society placed its emphasis on the science, their interest being with photography as art and to “encourage that class of photographic work where there is distinct evidence of artistic feeling and execution”. Basically, that has been the continuing purpose of The London Salon ever since.

The Surrey Photographic Association
Providing a forum for amateur photography, through 51 member clubs and societies in Surrey and beyond. Formed in 1960, as the Surrey Photographic Federation it changed its name on affiliation to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) on 1st January 1999.
The Association organises a major Day Event each year, with speakers of national and international repute, together with a number of Competitions on both an individual and an inter-club basis.
Every two years there is an Exhibition, which is judged by photographers of appropriate experience.
The Association publishes a Handbook, which contains contact details for judges approved by the Association and of lecturers in the area, who offer their services to camera clubs.
The Association’s member clubs, welcome individual photographers as members whatever their standard or experience, from raw beginners to amateurs of international renown and professionals, with equal enthusiasm.
A typical club programme might consist of internal and external competitions, visiting speakers, demonstrations and visits.
